Not sure, ‘80s tv maybe? I didn’t know my dad and nobody in my family had anything fast or powerful, but I always liked cars and power.

Yeah.. These just may have helped mold a kid into a 'car person' which of course has a hp link.

Man all of these were great shows !!!

TV as I was growing up was definitely a factor for me too.
But, my grandfather had a service station before he joined the Air Force at the end of WWII and became a mechanic, so even later in life he was always working on something. My father was a gearhead and I always heard stories from him about his '56 Chevy he owned. He said it had a 327, four speed, and 4.56 gear. He said it was pretty quick for it's day. My mom's youngest brother was always in to stock racing, so every time he was around that's what he talked about (once I got a license I spent 4 yrs helping him at the track with his dirt track car.)
It's not surprising I ended up wasting so much money on cars. LOL

Hell yeah they were! Another mention-able would be Simon & Simon, but for me only because of the Z/28.. not the ugly PowerWagon, lol.

Buy I never really liked that show, it wasn't in the same league as the others I posted IMO. I just watched it once in a while cuz I was dig'n on the Z.

But another movie(s) I didn't mention but completely falls into this category -

Being a young guy during the 60s, seeing all the muscle cars, hanging around with all of the guys helping working just waiting for my chance to own one,

My mom and cousins, uncles
All had cars, shops . The reason I'm into cars, trucks lifted or muscle, Ford's an ponchos too this day ..
I like some other GM's but the will always take a backseat to them two. Mopar are cool but when I was coming up the only thing they had was glh , stealth, conquest, then the viper.. now it's a lil different. But still cool..

One of my uncle from SC had CJ powered 56 Fairlane, car is still in the family just hadn't seen the road in 30yrs remember the car used to shack the house ..
